Day 5

Today is the first day I've actually ate all the containers. Holy cow! I feel so full. Simply switching out my snacks has been a huge curve on my eating. This week I've had two Shakeology's in a day and I find it gives me that extra boost. I'm not sure if I will keep it up or if my body feels depleted from pumping/nursing and taking care of my newborn daughter. Its either the shakes or my clean eating but either way I'm happy that my body is finally feeling normal again.
Pilates was the workout of the day and it was a nice break from the intense workouts with the weights. With that, I am looking forward to get back to those weights tomorrow. Feeling that burn is slowly becoming an addiction. The next time I do the pilates I think I will add on the 10-minute abs.
This first week is almost done and I'm pleasantly happy with the ease of the program. Being a new mom I'm trying to find my self again, maintain my sanity, and keep my family together all while getting back into pre-baby weight & shape.

Meals for the day:

Coffee w/ almond milk

Chocolate Vegan Shakeology

Taco Salad

Turkey slices

Chocolate Vegan Shakeology  with pineapple

Apple with peanut butter

Chicken Fajitas in a whole wheat tortilla

Day Four was overall a successful day. I tried working out in the morning to switch things up and was surprised how much I actually enjoyed it. Maybe it was the fact it was done and over with or the the fact that after I could relax with my coffee but it seemed to work. When I've done anything physical it has usually been in the evenings and for me that gives me that extra boost of energy to get home, cook dinner, and get ready for the next day. I don't know about you, but I need coffee and about an hour before I'm ready for the world.
My eating stayed on point. Shakeology has become a staple in my daily diet and I've been craving it for breakfast and lunch. With a newborn having the luxury of sitting and eating a meal is only able to happen when she naps or when my husband is home. With the shakes I can make them with a little extra ice and drink it easily through a straw while feeding or burping my daughter. With going back to work my plan is to make two shakes; one for breakfast and freeze one for lunch. Simplicity is key for me. If it's too hard I will get frustrated and luckily the 21 Day Fix is easy to follow.

Bonus! I weighed myself today and I'm down 3 pounds woot woot! Hopefully I can keep on this track and get down to my pre-baby weight.

Meals for the day:

Chocolate Vegan Shakeology w/ peanut butter and banana

Turkey slices

Chili w/ small slice of corn bread

Chocolate Vegan Shakeology with ice & water

Taco Salad & a 4oz glass of wine

Wow day 3! I'm not even sure where to start this. To start the day off my daughter had her first set of shots...worst feeling ever as a new mom. With that said our afternoon at home was a hot mess. After a few hours of bouncing and cuddling she finally fell asleep long enough that I could get my workout in. I did the Upper Fix on mute while she slept. Yep, that's right on mute. I needed to get my workout in anyway I could. And let me say I'm so happy I did. My body within these four days may not look different but inside I can feel my body working and it feels amazing. My back is not sore lifting the car-seat around or cleaning the house. After 9 months of being lazy-prego-lady and then almost 7 week recovering from delivering her my body is not the same.
So that was the good news, now for the bad. I ate pizza!!!!! Yes it happened four days in and there was this weird battle of food guilt I went through afterward. The flip-side I did get no cheese (baby is sensitive to dairy and I'm breastfeeding) thin crust, and it was veggie supreme. Since our morning and afternoon was crazy I actually hardly ate during the day so when it came time to mark off my pizza I was inside my food containers allotment per the 21 Day Fix book.
That slip up might deter a lot of people but this is real life and I'm not going to eat clean every meal or every day but what matters is I made the best choice out of the situation. Tomorrow I will do better!

Day 3 Meals:

Chocolate Vegan Shakeology w/ banana and cinnamon

Apple

6 turkey slices

2 veggie, thin crust, no cheese slices of pizza

WATER!

Day 2

Day 2 was much easier now that I had a better understanding of what I was going to be eating. Right now I am on my last week of maternity leave so I haven't actually meal prepped my meals/snacks into containers since I'm home 90% of the time. With that said, I would recommend to portion out the meals on a prep day just for the convenience of having it already done. Each time I want to eat I have to portion it out, this doesn't take that long but anyone with/had a newborn knows those few minutes are precious time. This Sunday I will prep my meals/snack into to-go containers since I start back to work.
Any way . . . I got my work out in while my husband feed my little one which helped. After my workout I was craving a Shake-O so I just did the classic scoop, water, and ice. That and my water bottle I felt refreshed. I'm on a mission in these next few days to determine when in the day is best for me to snag that time for a workout; 4am after a feeding with the sound off might be my best option, hehe.
It's funny how my mind says "you don't have time for that" or "when are you going to work out when everyone is sleeping?" Yes! If I have to do it after an early morning feeding then that's when I will. Doing this program is showing me that it's not about having the time to work out or meal prep because I sure has heck can find time to go the Target for no reason, it's about making it something you want to do. My hope is in the rest of my 21 days that working out becomes a habit and something I enjoy.

Below is what I ate for Day 2.

Chocolate Vegan Shakeology w/ Banana & Peanut Butter

Turkey & Avocado Salad

Chocolate Vegan Shakeology blended with water & ice (post workout)

Sliced turkey rolled with lettuce

Buffalo Chicken Salad (21 Day Fix Approved)

Alright Day One here we are! I went tot he grocery store to get stocked up for the week, had my meals mapped out, and the 21 Day Fix Chili was in the crock pot. All was going great...
Then I realized how much actual food I was having to eat! DAMN!!!! Is this program serious? When I opened the containers my first thought was "oh no this is way to small." But really it's the complete opposite. What I have figured out quickly is that the 21 Day Fix is not a diet but a lifestyle change; simply swapping bad foods for the good ones. I have 1 more container for veggies and proteins than I do for good carbs.
Below I will list what I ate in the day and I wasn't hungry. However, I am breastfeeding and it dawned on me that my milk supply being a little low is probably due to not eating enough. The 21 Day Fix showed me that my body needed more fuel than I was giving it.
The workout for Day 1 was no means a walk-in-the-park but my body feels that good burn. I don't know about you but that nice soreness the next day makes me feel like my time was well spent.
   I'm calling Day 1 a success!

2 eggs with Pico De Gallo & Turkey Bacon

Apple

Chocolate Vegan Shakeology w/ Banana & Peanut Butter

Chili

Water! Water! Water!

Most people consider the first day of their Beachbody journey the day they start working out and making their Shake-O. That isn't me though; my first day was the day I decided to become a coach and order the 21 Day Fix program.
Six weeks ago I gave birth to my daughter and expected to bounce back into my pre-pregnancy body after hearing how skinny breastfeeding would make me...NOT! Yes, 75% of my baby weight was gone but those extra 10lbs, soft tummy, stretch marks, and self doubt were still there. I feel like I missed the secret memo on fitting into my skinny jeans just from breastfeeding alone.
With that I decided to take the plunge into the Beachbody world with the help of my amazing sister-in-law. I tried Shakeology for seven days, yep 7 days, and I felt like the new-mom-zombie version of me lifted away. After only 7 days I was hooked on the boost Shakeology gave me. If that wasn't enough my sis-in-law had me try one work out, I did the modified version and even then had to stop to get my fussy newborn, but I finished the work out.
That one workout not only made me feel muscles I forgot about but it made me a firm believer that between these workouts and the boost I was getting from Shakeology that their was light at the end of the skinny-jean-tunnel.
Now the hard part! Waiting. Stalking the FedEx tracker for my 21 Day Fix and Shakeology to arrive. It will be here is 4 days but it feels like a lifetime without my Shake-O.
There are people who might think I can't do this or that I wasted my money on this but the fact remains I might fail, I may win, but at the end of the day I'm trying to change my life, my future, and my family. If I can connect to one woman out there, one new mom who felt they way I did, then that is all I can ask for as a coach.

Wish me luck!
